Would have been greate to build a chip plant for RISC-V processors with government money. I don’t see EU emancipating itself in the IT sector in the forseeable future.
My thought too. But as far as I know, foundries are independent of instruction sets. They are built for a particular manufacturing process and should be able to manufacture any chip using that particular process. As long as Intel is not monopolizing the foundry, if somebody submits an order for a RISC-V chip, I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to manufacture it.
