Distributed/Federated was discussed briefly even in #peers, before fr33 even started working on Vervis. Deep down I feel like distributed is the better approach, but it doesn’t really solve the biggest issue of P2P: who is willing to host my stuff using their own storage/bandwidth? Besides, IIRC a lot of questions were raised about “how is X even going to work in a distributed system?” (for example tickets or merge requests).
