This is really neat. I have been on a retro kick with the web, and have been discovering quite a few neat things out there and finding that Web 1.0 is still alive, it’s just harder to find. Here is a search engine that tries to make that accessible to people by weeding out the corporate nonsense that the web has become. Follow me down the rabbit hole folks and have fun! I hope you all enjoy!

It’s 1997. I only have 30 minutes before my mom complains because she can’t use the phone. I have the Internet under my fingertips. I can search anything.

ohhhhh yeah! Welcome to the 90s!

Incidentally, when searching “Leonardo Di Caprio” it returned an article titled “16-bit Memory Addressing” which was completely offtopic with my query but quite interesting nonetheless. So it’s not so bad :)

Now it’s clear why Google became so popular so fast!

EDIT: I don’t know why this posted like 50 times. When I posted it the first few times I got a 500 error. I apologize if it came across as spam. Please don’t flag my user accout. If the other posts could be deleted, that’d be grand.

I’m not sure why it was posted multiple times… Sounds like the server processed more than one request? Anyway, I’ve removed the duplicates.

Thank you.

s**t this is great! How do they choose what is web 1.0 and what is not?

It looks like you submit web sites to it.
