Has FOSS traded its shared values for success in the marketplace?

I think he’s missing a point here. The FSF, and Richard Stallman have a fundamentally different view than those at the Linux Foundation and who support Open Source. Yes, they can come together on the things they agree on, but if you believe in free software, there are things that you cannot compromise on or software stops being free. That’s free as in freedom, not free beer.

The articles says exactly that the LF cannot replace the FSF because they do not represents the same values, since the LF is essentially a corporate organization. The point of the article seems to be that the FSF is not doing enough but there is nobody else to take on the role of free-software-point-of-reference.
